Former India head coach Rahul Dravid has refused to take extra bonus from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Dravid wants the same prize money as the rest of his coaching staff. This means that Dravid will take half of the ₹2.5 crore out of the ₹5 crore.
BCCI has awarded a cash prize of Rs 125 crore to the T-20 World Cup champion team. This prize money has been distributed among the players and 42 members of the coaching staff. Out of Rs 125 crore, all 15 members of the team and coach Rahul Dravid will get Rs 5 crore each.
The remaining members of the coaching staff are to get a share of Rs 2.5 crore. Along with Dravid in the T-20 World Cup, the support staff includes Vikram Rathore, Paras Mahambre and T Dileep. But, now Dravid wants the same reward as the rest of the staff i.e. ₹2.5 crore.
According to the Times of India, a BCCI source said, ‘Rahul wanted the same bonus amount as his support staff. We respect their sentiments.’
