Uruguay players clash with fans in Copa-America semi-final: Nunez hits fans; 23 years later, in the Colombia final, Messi will face Argentina

Uruguayan players clashed with fans after the semi-finals of the Copa America.  On Thursday, a video of the brawl was posted on social media, showing Uruguayan player Darwin Nunez hitting a fan wearing a Colombia jersey.

Colombia won 1-0 in a thrilling semi-final.  The team has reached the finals of this tournament for the third time.  Colombia last played in the finals 23 years ago in 2001 and were crowned champions on their hosting debut.

Colombia’s Jefferson Lerma scored the only goal in the thrilling semi-final match played on Wednesday night in the 39th minute.  Colombia will now face defending champions Lionel Messi’s Argentina on Sunday.  While the Uruguayan team will face Canada in the third place match.

Security manned the front
Daniel Munoz was shown a red card in this match, while 7 players were given yellow cards.  There was a lot of pushing and shoving between the players of both the teams.

After the match, Darwin Nunez and dozens of Uruguayan players jumped into the fray between the fans.  Here Nunez was seen punching a fan wearing a Colombia jersey.  The matter was resolved after much struggle.  However, no injuries were reported.
