Novak Djokovic-Lorenzo Mussetti and Elena Rybakina in Wimbledon semi-finals: Djokovic gets a walkover; Musetti in the top-4 of any Grand Slam for the first time

Former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon.  In the quarter-finals, they were to face Australia and the tournament’s ninth-ranked D minor.  A few hours before the match, Minor announced in a press conference that he would not play in the quarterfinals.  He informed that he was withdrawing from the tournament due to injury.

He said he heard a ‘crack’ during Monday’s 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Arthur Fields in the fourth round.  When the match ended, de Minaur cautiously walked towards the net but later downplayed the seriousness of the situation when speaking to the media.  With this walkover, Djokovic reached the semifinals of Wimbledon for the 13th time, equaling Roger Federer’s men’s singles record.

This is the 37th time in the tournament that a match has been decided in five sets, the most at any Grand Slam.  Musetti will face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.  Djokovic will have the upper hand.  So far, Musetti has faced Djokovic 6 times, of which Djokovic has won 5 times.

Elena Rybkina also reached the semi-finals
2022 Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina has reached the semifinals.  She beat Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-2.
