No Entry: Number of Indian tourists in Netherlands dropped by 70% in one year

The number of Indian tourists in the European country Netherlands has decreased by 70 percent in one year.  The Netherlands government granted skilled visas to 14,816 Indian tourists in 2022, against which only 4,520 Indians were granted visas in 2023.

The number of Indian arrivals in the Netherlands increased steadily during the 15 years, but there was a sharp decline during the year.  Experts say that even in 2024, the government of the Netherlands is going to reduce it.  As of June, only 1,800 Indian tourists have been granted skilled visas.

Why such a decision of the Netherlands…. Nationalist government is giving jobs to local people
Visas for Indians have been cut in the Netherlands since the nationalist SAC party came to power last year.  The ruling party believes that people coming from abroad are taking away the jobs of local people.  Due to this there was anger among the local people.  These nationalist parties made election promises that bans on international visas would be imposed.  It was started last year.  The number of Indian students has also decreased.  In 2022, where 1800 students went on study visas, in 2023 this number dropped to 1400.
